Rare Prince items now in stock

This year marked the return of one of the most iconic performers in pop history, the one and only Prince. Known for his flair for the dramatic, and consistently great musical output over the last 30 years, Prince has maintained a solid fanbase over the years. We recently picked up a great Prince collection, including some fantastic rarities that are only usually seen in less than desirable condition. Below are just a few of the highlights availible now.

Sexy Dancer - Rare original 1979 UK Warner label 2-track 12" vinyl single also including Bambi, housed in a die-cut WEA label sleeve. The vinyl has only a few light surface marks on side 2, otherwise a top copy of this Prince rarity.

Purple Rain - Rare 1984 Mexican 9-track limited edition PICTURE DISC vinyl LP album - unreleased on this format in the UK and was pressed only in Mexico and is very limited and thus extremely hard to find now days, this copy is still housed in the custom printed clear PVC sleeve with white overprinted Spanish text & tracklisting. The PVC sleeve has a deletion drill hole in the bottom left corner and the vinyl is in excellent condition, but finding this item any condition from South American countries is very hard, a must have item for any fan!

 

 

Purple Rain - Vintage, original 1984 UK Warner promotional cinema poster for Prince's first motion picture. This fine example measures 30" x 40", and despite some very minor creasing to the edge through storage, which would be invisible with professional archivalframing, this is a stunning item. How many of these survived from movie theaters is anyones guess, and this is a piece of Prince history not to be missed out on.

I Wanna Be Your Lover - Rare 1979 Dutch wide- centred injection moulded 7" vinyl single, also including Just As Long As We're Together, unique picture sleeve. The sleeve has some light ringwear and edgewear, but remains in excellent conditin; the vinyl is in near 'as new' condition. This is the first copy we have seen in over 20 years!

Great Nirvana rarities in stock now

2014 marked 20 years since Kurt Cobains life was tragically cut short at the height of Nirvana's popularity. Since then their back catalogue continues to grow, and their rarities even harder to find as people are reluctant to part with them. Luckily for us (and you) we have recently picked up a small Nirvana collection that harboured a few gems. Below are just some of the highlights.

 

Blew - Rare original 1989 UK Tupelo label 4-track 12" vinyl EP, also including Love Buzz, Been A Son and Stain, picture sleeve. There is very slight wear to the top and edges of the sleeve, however the vinyl is in near MINT condition. Now very hard to find!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Incesticide -1992 US Geffen limited edition 15- track blue marble vinyl LP, colour picture sleeve with original inner. The stop gap compilation album between the multi-platinum selling Nevermind andswan song LP In Utero, Incesticide comprises numerous B-sides, and rarities of Nirvanas' career, including covers by The Vaselines, and Devo. The sleeve shows only some light edgewear from the storage, however the vinyl is near 'as new' condition, looking barely played. A great addition to any Nirvana collection

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Smells Like Teen Spirit - 1991 German Geffen label limited edition 3-track 12" vinyl picture disc single featuring the 'swimming naked baby' image from Nevermind which is different to the UK issue, also includes Even In His Youth and Aneurysm

Limited Edition, vintage Picture Discs now in stock

PIcture discs and shaped discs were almost a cultural phenomenon in 1980's, with record companies jumping on this bandwagon at a rate of knots. This continued into the early part of the 90's until picture discs were merely resigned to promotional use only as the vinyl industry declined. Original picture and shaped discs are now considered quite colllectable due to the limited numbers in which they were pressed, and recently we picked up a fantastic selection of picture discs, and shaped discs from varying genres from this time. Heres a few of the highlights below:

 

IRON MAIDEN Man On The Edge -1995 UK limited edition 3-track 12" vinyl PICTURE DISC single, also including The Edge Of Darkness and I Live My Way. The disc features great images of 'Eddie' being tortured on one side with an electric chair image on the other. Housed in a die-cut picture sleeve which comes complete with seriously huge fold-out tour poster! Apart from some minor edgewear the vinyl and contents are in excellent condition

Celebrate the Emo Revival with 991.com

In recent years, there has been a huge resurgence in 90's influenced Emo. Classic bands such as Mineral, Texas Is The Reason, American Football and others reuniting to play shows for the first time in years. There has also been swarms of new bands celebrating the genre, with a sound that harks back to the glory days such as Moose Blood, Into It Over It, and Joie De Vivre. Morrissey and The Smiths Collectables In Stock Now

As you may or may not know, Morrissey has just returned to the public eye with his 10th solo album 'World Peace Is None Of Your Business'. Entering the UK Top 40 at Number 2 this weekend, 'World Peace..' is one of of this finest albums since 'Vauxhall and I', and will be a strong contender for many Album of the Year lists come November. 

Almost in perfect timing, last week saw the arrival of a number of Rare and Collectable items by both The Smiths, and from Morrissey's solo career. Below are just a few of the highlights we have.

 

You Are The Quarry - Rare Official 2004 UK BPI GOLD sales award issued to commemorate sales in excess of 100,000 copies of the Attack Records album. Features a copy of the CD and sleeve artwork, mounted above a gold engraved dedication plaque with mini Union Jack flag in the top left corner. The More You Ignore Me - 1994 UK Parlophone 2-track radio promotional 2-track vinyl 7", also includes Used To Be A Sweet Boy, with mock original Parlophone orange label, in custom picture sleeve! The sleeve shows just some slight edgwear along the opening edge and the vinyl looks unplayed

Autographed Smashing Pumpkins Rarities In Stock

The Smashing Pumpkins were one of the most iconic bands to come out of the 90's alt-rock boom, and their music has stood the test of time, still beloved by fans the world over. Recently we picked up a small but fantastic collection of Rare Smashing Pumpkins items. Including 90's vinyl pressings, promo items, and many Authentic Autographed items. Below are just a few of the highlights that have been added to our store in the last few days

Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness - Fully autographed 1995 US 28-track picture disc 2-CD album set, housed in the US thick twin pack jewel case complete with the two illustrated credits & textured lyric booklets. Thefront picture inlay bears the signatures of the classic era line-up - Billy Corgan in black marker pen with 1998 date, D'arcy Wretzky in silver & James Iha & Jimmy Chamberlin in blue. Their sprawling masterpiece & fully signed!

Adore - Autographed 1998 US original 15-track three-sided double LP, released exclusively in MONO for a slightly darker sound on vinyl, although peculiarly the cover art opts for colour over the CD version. '17'was also left off the vinyl release & no booklet was ever included. The custom stickered gatefold sleeve displays the signatures of Billy & D'ary's in black marker pen, with Billy dating it '98 for a nice period release signature. What's more,the sleeve shows minimal wear & the vinyl looks barely played

Perfect - Fully Autographed 1998 3-track CD single, also including Summer & Daphne Descends. The front & back of the picture inlay bears a nice full set of signatures in black marker pen - Billy Corgan, James Iha, D'arcy Wretzky & Jimmy Chamberlin - catching the group in a transitional phase. Billy has dated his signature '1998'. Although Jimmy did not appear on the recording, he was reinstated as the group's drummer in October that year. Hole's Melissa Auf der Maur has also signed the front. Whether this was penned before or after she took over from D'Arcy on bass is uncertain, as it's the same pen &, of course, she was a lifelong friend of the group's. A wonderful set of signatures from the final days of the imploding original line-up

Housed in a numbered gatefold picture sleeve with fabulous artwork and complete with 12-page illustrated lyric booklet. This album is now incredibly hard to find in this format and captures the band in one of their best periods. The sleeve shows virtually no wear and the vinyl is immaculate HUTTLP30

Siamese Dream - Staggeringly handsome fully autographed 1993 US exclusive limited edition 13-track double LP pressed on Marbled Orange Vinyl. with the front of the gatefold sleeve signedcirca '97 by the classic lineup of Billy Corgan, James Iha, D'arcy Wretzky & Jimmy Chamberlin. The signatures are unhurried & beautifully artistic, with Billy & D'arcy signing in bright turquoise marker pen [Billy providing the '97 date] & James & Jimmy in black, wonderfully off-set against the stunning artwork. This is, perhaps, the classic Pumpkins album to have fully signed. What's more, it remains in outstanding near mint condition. A serious collector's piece & investment grade

Rhinoceros - SUPER RARE unreleased 1991 UK promo only 7" backed with Siva on Caroline Records, die cut sleeve. This single was rumoured to be limited to only 100 copies and is ranked as one of the toughest Pumpkins rarities tofind. The vinyl shows only a few light scuffs which do not affect play - A superb item for your collection - Awesome!!

Rare U2 Items In Stock Now!

Stories For Boys - Exclusive 2:40 version featured on rare 1979 Irish-only 'Just For Kicks' 12-track compilation vinyl LP on the Dublin label Kick Records. The Edge also guests on guitar on The Teen Commandments track Something's Better ThanNothing. Housed in original picture sleeve with sleeve notes by Dave Fanning. Although the sleeve has some noticeable edgewear, it remains in excellent condition and the vinyl looks barely played and near 'as new' - a fantastic copy of this U2 rarity

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I Will Follow - Rare 1983 US promotional-only vinyl 12" with custom printed green labels, playing at 33rpm. Featuring the live version recorded at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Colorado on 5th June 1983, which is the same on both sides. Issuedto radio to promote the 'Under A Blood Red Sky' album, and comes in a custom stickered white card sleeve. Apart from a little light foxing on the sleeve, it shows little of its age and the vinyl is in 'near as new' condition 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In God's Country - Scarce 1987 Canadian-only rainbow rim Island label 3-track 12" single, taken from the band's classic album The Joshua Tree co-produced with Brian Eno, also featuring Bullet The Blue Sky and Running To Stand Still. This copy is in excellent condition with the sleeve showing only some light edgewear/scuffing and the vinyl looking barely played. A fantastic collectors item for any U2 fan

Original Bob Dylan Mono Pressings In Stock Now

Original Bob Dylan records are usually hard to come by. They have often, and rightfully so, been played to within an inch of their lives, and have seen better days. That was not the case this time around. We successfully picked up a small collection of some of Bob Dylan's finest work all in at least Excellent condition, and some of the nicest original Mono pressings we have seen in 30 years. Below are just some of the highlights

Bringing It All Back Home - Scarce 1965 UK 11-track mono vinyl LP on the rough textured orange label, front laminated picture sleeve with rounded flipbacks. This is the original issue from May 1965. The label is of the 'rough' CBS variety, with centre boxed logo, '33' instead of '33 1/3' near the bottom left corner of the logo & 'Blossom Music Ltd' Credit to the centre right. Including Dylan favourites 'Subterranean Homesick Blues' and 'Mr Tambourine Man'. Essential

Blonde On Blonde - Rare 1966 UK first issue 14-track 'rough' textured label MONO double LP, containing the earlier Canadian mono mix on sides one & two & the later US mono mix on sides three & four, a peculiarity exclusive to the UK mono release. This copy also has the very rare mistitle with the second track on side two being listed as 'Memphis Blues Again' where most were titled 'Stuck Inside Of Mobile With Thee'. The front laminated flipback gatefold sleeve has the ninepicture panel inside featuring Claudia Cardinale & non die cut CBS catalogue printed paper inners. The sleeve shows few signs of age with minimal shelfwear & the vinyl too remains EX-/EX showing just the odd light surface scuff or hairline, even after forty five years - an excellent copy of this fantastic album

Highway 61 Revisited - Rare 1965 first UK issue 9-track mono LP on the 'rough' textured orange label, front laminated picture sleeve with rounded flipbacks. The sleeve shows a light corner crease & a small name penned on the back, which is unobtrusive to the print. All text remains clearly legible, including along the spine, the flipbacks are secure & the print unblemished. The vinyl is in excellent condition with just a few light paper scuffs to indicate play

Kylie Minogue is undoubtedly one of the greatest icons in Pop Music history. A stream of consistently great albums, Chart topping singles, and dancefloor anthems, as well as being the true Goddess of Pop.

K -2008 UK AUTOGRAPHED First Edition of the limited edition 200 page+ 14" x 11" hardback book issued in a custom slipcase. This ultra-deluxe volume features previously unreleased photographs taken by Kylie'screative director William Baker during her 2006 Showgirl: The Homecoming Tour to the KylieX 2008 tour. The front free end paper has been signed by Kylie and William Baker in silver marker pen. This beautifully bound volume,with a black textured hardback cover and an embossed 'K' logo on the front is housed in an injection molded oversized glossy black slipcase that opens to form the letter "K" - for Kylie. Simply spectacular and limited to just 1000 copies!

 

Aphrodite: The Goddess Edition - 2011 Australian exclusive limited edition 12-track CD album presented inside a hand-numbered hand-bound hardback pop-up book. The 60-page 11½" x 8½" book contains five spectacular double-page colour pop-up images of Kylie and has a black fabric cover with an embossed silver title on the front. It is housed in a black card slipcase with a 'K' logo in the middle and comes in a black tote bag with a white silhouette image of the singer. Apart from a small 1" seam split in the top opening edge of the slipcase, this wonderful edition remains in mint condition. Only 1000 copies have been produced - this copy is numbered 254/1000

The Rarest Metallica Items Around

Metallica are still arguably one of the most iconic Metal bands of the last 30 years. A consitent output of Heavy Metal albums, and still a storming live act. As the band gear up for this Summer's 'Metallica: By Request' Tour, we have aquired some of the most interesting, and sought after Metallica collectibles around. This has come from the collection of Sem Hadland, author of the book "Metallica Fuel & Fire, the illustrated collectors guide to Metallica" and previous owner/webmaster of Encyclopedia Metallica.

METALLICA Metalli-Can - Rare FULLY AUTOGRAPHED 1988 Japanese only 6½" tall paint tin with a logo embossed lid, includes the ...And Justice For All CD album & exclusive T-shirt. METALLICA One - Super rare FULLY AUTOGRAPHED1989 Japanese CBS Sony orange label promotional- only large centred 7" featuring the Short Version, also including Breadfan, complete with the unique custom insert printed with tour dates on thefront and lyrics on the reverse. The insert and sleeve are both in excellent condition, but what makes this copy even more collectable is the fact it has been signed by James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett & Jason Newsted across the front in a silver or black pen, these were obtained circa 1999 as Lars has also added the year to his signature and Jason left the band in 2001.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

METALLICA Mandatory Metallica - Mega Rare 1988 US original 7-track promo-only compilation CD, this issue is without the track 'One' which was added to the later 8-track issue, with custom picture sleeve. Does exactly what it says on the case, and includes the most Mandatory Metallica tracks, such as Master Of Puppets, For Whom The Bell Tolls, and Creeping Death. A very rare Metallica collectable that deserves a place in any serious Metallica collection!

As mentioned this copy has been dedicated to Sem & signed by the original line-up of Billy Corgan, James Iha, D'arcy Wretzky and Jimmy Chamberlin across the front of the sleeve in a black pen & dated 1993. D'arcy has signed as 'D'arcy Pumpkin', and comes with a three page press release.

DANZIG Danzig II: Lucifuge - Rare FULLY AUTOGRAPHED1994 US 11-track CD, the second album produced by Rick Rubin, complete with fold-out [folds out into a cross shape] lyric picture sleeve which features the alternate 'chest/cross' artwork. This copy has been signed by the album line-up of Glenn Danzig, Eerie Von, John Christ and Chuck Biscuits across the front in a black felt pen

SIGUR ROS Takk... - 2005 UK strictly limited edition 11-track double LP pressed on Heavyweight Vinyl, written and performed by the band and co-produced with Ken Thomas, justifying every amazing claim ever laid at this exceptional band'sdoor, complete with bonus 1-sided etched 10" single featuring the track 3A Milano, presented in a lavish die-cut & embossed gatefold picture sleeve with printed inner bags. Aside from some light edgewear the sleeve is excellent and thevinyl shows one or two light hairlines, probably caused by the thick card inners, but will not affect play. Overall this is an excellent copy of this Sigur Ros rarity

MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA I'm Like A Virgin Losing A Child - 2006 US 12-track LP, picture sleeve with poster credits inner. This was the debut album by the US indie band led by guitarist Andy Hull, much acclaimed at the time of release,and deservedly so. The sleeve on this copy is still in its opened shrinkwrap and shows very little wear and, apart from a few light scuffs which do not affect play, the vinyl is in excellent condition FGR002

ELLIOTT SMITH Either / Or (Deleted 1997 US 12-track vinyl LP, the 3rd full length release from the influential singer-songwriter, showcasing his unique style of vocalising, described as a 'whispery, spiderweb-thin delivery', including the single'Speed Trials', as well as 'Angeles', 'Between The Bars' and 'Say Yes', all 3 of which were included in Gus Van Sant's movie 'Good Will Hunting', sealed picture sleeve. The sleeve shows some light wear and the vinyl has only a few light scuffs/hairlines to show for its 17 years in the wild KRS269

Rare 90's vinyl in stock now!

COUNTING CROWS August And Everything After - Rare 1993 UK issue 11-track vinyl LP, manufactured in Holland for the UK market. The debut studio album by American rock band, including the singles Mr. Jones, Rain King and Round Here; glossy picture sleeve with picture/lyric printed paper inner. The sleeve shows few signs of age; the vinyl has only one very light surface mark on side 2 and looks barely played. An oustanding copy of this incredibly hard to find '90s vinyl pressing GEF24528

In Light of the revelations by Kirk Hammett that Metallica have "Run out of excuses to start recording a new album" (which I am sure was a great delight to devotees of the band) here are some more fantastic Metallica items. These came direct from the collection of Sem Hadland, former webmaster of Encyclopedia Metallica, and author of Fuel and FIre: A Collectors Guide To Metallica.

Harvester Of Sorrow - Rare AUTOGRAPHED 1988 UK Vertigo injection moulded label promotional-only vinyl 7", which plays the same track on both sides, this was never commercially released as 7" single anywhere in the world; customblack & white picture sleeve. The sleeve has only a few light signs of storage wear whilst the vinyl is superb. This copy has been boldly signed by James Hetfield in black and Jason Newsted in blue by their respective image on the frontof the sleeve. Jason left the band in 2001. This has come from the collection of Sem Hadland, author of the book "Metallica Fuel & Fire, the illustrated collectors guide to Metallica" and previous owner/webmaster of Encyclopedia Metallica. A stunning rarity that deserves a place in any Metallica collection

 

 

 

 

 

 

Whiplash - Rare US-only Megaforce issued limited edition un-numbered 4-track vinyl 12" PICTURE DISC including Special Neck Brace Mix, Jump In The Fire, Seek And Destroy and Phantom Lord. The perfect addition to any real Metallica collection MRS-04

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fade To Black - Rare 1984 US promotional only Black Vinyl 12" which plays the same track on both sides, die-cut Elektra company sleeve with a custom red & black 'The Friday Morning Quarterback Album Report' sticker on the front. The sleeve has only a few light storage creases but the sticker has not been affected, the vinyl is in 'near as new' condition showing very little, if any signs of being played with clean labels without any spindle marks. Although not as rare as the lime green vinyl issue this is still a very sought after item, with this in outstanding condition ED5044

Jump In The Fire - Rare 1986 UK UNCUT test pressing of their iconic 'Moster' shaped picture disc, this is for  the second issue with the barcode on the reverse, also including Phantom Lord [Live]. This was pressed using the un-used catalogue number P12-KUT-105 in matrix! Stunning!

Kill 'Em All - Very rare original 1983 US Megaforce label numbered limited
edition 10-track vinyl PICTURE DISC LP, individually numbered on a white sticker on the centre of the disc. The classic Metallica debut, featuring the iconic thrash anthems Hit The Lights, and Jump In The Fire. An incredibly hard to come by picture disc, especially with the number sticker intact. A must for any real Metallica colleciton
