U2 The Best Of Collection 1980-1990 (Mega rare 1998 UK Island Records, quantity of TEN white label test pressings for the 7"s from the promotional only box set, with 'BXU 211 A1' to 'BXU 211 Z1' and 'BXU 211 AA' / 'BXU 211 BB' matrices,each with plain white labels and in their own handwritten annotated sleeve with an abbreviated title in the top left corner. The vinyl is in 'near as new' condition with very little signs of play. An unbelievable set and the first we have everseen)

THE YARDBIRDS Happening's Ten Years Time Ago (Extremely rare 1966 Japanese wide centred 7" single pressed on Red 'Everclean' vinyl, with black Odeon labels & manufactured by Toshiba. This is surely one of the topfive psychedelic singles of all time, featuring both Jimmy Page & Jeff Beck on guitar [also an influence on Hendrix!], & backed with the original b-side, Psycho Daisies, unique wraparound picture insert with Japanese/lyrics inside. The inserthas only the lightest of creases and is otherwise excellent. The vinyl has a few noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch but plays to an excellent standard with no major deterioration in sound quality. Only the second copy of this hard to find pressing our Japanese buyer has found OR-2291)

IRON MAIDEN 2 Minutes To Midnight - Special DJ Copy (Super rare 1984 Japanese original black vinyl promotional-only 7" single with custom white title solid labels, manufactured by Toshiba-EMI, with correct machine-stamped matrices & near mintcondition throughout. This legendary rarity has additionally been autographed on the front picture sleeve insert by Iron's frontman Bruce Dickinson. Quite simply unrepeatable!)

PINK FLOYD See Emily Play (Legendary super rare original 1967 Japanese wide centred 7" vinyl single on the black & silver Odeon label, credited to 'The' Pink Floyd, this was the band's debut single in Japan & is one of the rarest Japanese 45sby any artist from this period. Also includes Scarecrow, housed in a unique glossy wraparound 'Piper' picture sleeve with Japanese text biography & lyrics in English to both songs printed inside, complete with company sleeve. Both the sleeve & vinyl remain in astonishing near mint condition. First come, first served! OR-1785)

U2 I Will Follow (Rare 1980 Irish red CBS label 2-track YELLOW VINYL 7" single, also includes Boy/Girl recorded live at The Marquee, housed in the original black & white 'Boy' picture sleeve with individual bandmembers images down the left side on the back. The delicate sleeve has a very small seam split in the bottom edge plus some light edgewear and ringwear; however the vinyl is in near 'as new' condition SCBS9065)

THE KINKS Face To Face (Very rare original 1966 UK 14-track stereo vinyl LP, apparently only pressed for export, front laminated flipback picture sleeve for the mono edition with 'STEREO NSPL' sticker on the reverse. As a nice touch, the previous owner has attached a period review of the album to a blank section on the back of the sleeve. The sleeve itself remains in superb condition, with the front an as intended shade of ivory & with just the lightest signs of handling on the unlaminated back, with edge scuffing at anabsolute minimum. The heavyweight vinyl too is of equal splendour, showing just the lightest signs of play and remaining near 'as new'. A fantastic one owner copy of this classic in astonishing condition! NSPL18149)

AUDIENCE Audience (Original 1969 UK 12-track stereo vinyl LP with A1/B1 matrices, the progressive rock group's debut album & almost mythical in its rarity, supposedly selling in such small quantities at the time that it was immediately withdrawn! Includes an early rough & ready version of 'House On The Hill', textured 'blacklite' picture sleeve. The sleeve shows only a light ripple with no wear to the print or edges at all. The vinyl is super clean & looks barely played. An astonishing copy of this legendary prog rarity!)

Tuesday's Top Three Including Paul McCartney, Madonna, Radiohead

PAUL MCCARTNEY Dance Tonight (Rare *UNCUT* picture disc for the 2007 UK limited edition shaped vinyl single. This incredible rarity has not been cut to the finished shape and retains a clear vinyl surround around the actual image, measuring 12" in diameter. Uncut picture discs are essentially test pressings, used to check the pressing quality and image alignment in advance of the final run. They are hugely collectable; some of the rarest titles fetch many hundreds of £s - a gem!)

MADONNA Evita Newspaper Movie Prop (Rare, authentic and official double-sided newspaper one-sheet, as featured in the acclaimed 1996 major motion picture 'Evita'. This 23" x 16" newspaper prop was utilized prominently in the film, and features four shots of Madonna as Evita, along with appropriate text befitting the period. On the back page is a full-scale Madonna-as-Evita portrait photograph - See Additional Information for more details:

RADIOHEAD Hail To The Thief (Superb 2003 UK promotional set produced for the 'Hail To The Thief' album consisting of a Slide Viewer with accompanying slides in a custom brown 'Radiohead' stencilled box and an official Jigsaw [which remains shrinkwrapped & sealed]. Also included in this amazing set is a 4" x 3" white puzzle housed inside a custom 'sandwich bag' and finally a black self-inking fold-out rubber stamp, measuring approximately 3"x 1" when closed and which opens out into a triangular stamp with 'Hail To The Thief' text plus belt clip)

Monday's Top Three including Cream, Little Anthony And The Imperials & Eric Clapton

CREAM Battle Of Cream & Ginger Baker's Airforce (Rare late 60s Japanese-only 19-track 2-LP vinyl box set, manufactured by Nippon Grammophone. Features one record dedicated to Cream & the other to Ginger Baker's Air Force, both sequenced exclusively for this release, housed in a 12" circular metal tin with images of the artists plus full tracklisting on the back. The tin has naturally started to discolour & corrode a little but this is to minimal effect. Both vinyl discs are clean &in excellent condition MP9375/76)

LITTLE ANTHONY AND THE IMPERIALS Hold On! (Monster rare soul 1976 Japanese 9-track vinyl LP. This very limited stock copy was a chance find by our man in Japan, & what a find! This was intended as Anthony & The Imperial's secondalbum for Avco, but was swiftly withdrawn from sale in all countries after the failure of the title track to sell & Avco's subsequent financial difficulties. The album has since become a much-sought after Philly soul collectable, particularly among UK soul music buyers, that's if you can find one. Both the sleeve & vinyl remain in beautiful near 'as new' condition, with Japanese insert. One white label copy achieved a stratospheric price recently so consider this a bargain! SWX-6263)

ERIC CLAPTON Journeyman (Official 1989 UK B.P.I. Certified Gold award issued to commemorate album sales in excess of 100,000 copies and presented to Eric's ex-manager Roger Forrester. This nicely framed and glazed award measures 20" x 16" in size and features a gold LP disc above the artwork miniature and authentic, custom engraved BPI dedication plaque. All mounted on a red felt background with Union 'Jack' Flag in the top left corner and in a golden coloured metal frame)

FRANK SINATRA & ANTONIO CARLOS JOBIM Sinatra Jobim (Legendary 1969 US double sided metal based methyl cellulose lacquer acetate for the unreleased 10-track stereo LP [scheduled for release as Reprise FS 1028], with plain type written labels detailing the original track sequence [the order of which has never been replicated on any subsequent releases]. How many of these exist is unconfirmed, but certainly less than five. What's more, the condition is SPECTACULAR FS1028)

BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONG Look For Love (This legendary US 1977 7" vinyl single is the earliest recording by the Green Day frontman, pressed by the Fiat label when Billie was just five years old. ANDROMEDA Andromeda (Superb debut 1969 8-track vinyl LP, transcending the psychedelic & progressive era. The band was formed by John (Du) Cann, previously of The Attack, & blends guitar driven neo classical passages & discordant guitars, an incredible example of hard progressive rock with traces of psych & jazz, front laminated picture sleeve with pinched spine. The sleeve shows a little light creasing to the laminate & both panels remain off white. There is a small sticker tear mark on the back but this is unobtrusive to the print. The labels are clean with no blemishes or spindle marks. The vinyl is super clean & reveals very few signs of play. An excellent copy of this cult rarity! SF8031)

LED ZEPPELIN 1969-1982 Albums (There really is nothing that can be said about this band, simply put they were classic rock's finest pioneers to come out of England in the late 1960s. What we have here is a fantastic set of Ten LPs [twelve disc's in total] comprising the complete studio albums from the self titled masterpiece to the final studio album, Coda, which comprises session outtakes. We have also included the brilliant live release, The Song Remains the Same. All are UK pressings except for Coda which is a German pressing. 
All sleeves remain in at least excellent condition. All vinyl has been professionally cleaned, carefully inspected & remain in at least excellent to 'near as new' grade condition. What more can be said, perfect for the well versed completist or a trip down memory lane for the casual fan to pick up the lot in one swoop!!)

Picture sleeve including 4-page insert with Japanese text biography, lyrics and album discography, plus original obi-strip SOPM125)

DAVID BOWIE The Next Day (2013 UK limited edition 7" single pressed on WHITE COLOURED SQUARE SHAPED VINYL, which plays the same 3:26 album version on both sides, comes in a clear title-stickered clear PVC sleeve)

KATE BUSH Never For Ever (1980 Japanese 11-track white label promo sample vinyl LP, housed in a pasted gatefold picture sleeve with lyrics inside, plus Japanese insert and matching picture obi-strip. Monday's Top Three including The Mirror, Delaney & Bonnie & Bruce Springsteen

THE MIRROR Faster Than Light (Rare 1968 South African single sided 33RPM mono metal based ultra high grade methyl cellulose lacquer acetate, one of only four tracks known to have been recorded by the Bath based band for a proposed EP that never happened. This was the B Side of their released single 'Gingerbread Man' in the UK, and a nice slice of psych it is, too. The acetate label is plain and hand typed with 18th August 1968 date, the Artist, title of the song, 'Flamingo Music' publishing information & matrix 'XBR-04463'. This copy still has the Philips 'Seven Single' die cut paper sleeve. Notoriously fragile, this copy has survived the last forty five years relatively unscathed and remains in beautiful condition with just a few very light surface scuffs to show for its forty five)

DELANEY & BONNIE Country Life (Ridiculously rare test pressing for Atco's intended 1972 US 12-track LP, scheduled for release under a 'SD33-383' catalogue number, this album was not just withdrawn but never reached the final production stage in this original form [only an 8-track cartridge tape was rushed into final production under this title]. This earliest version features the original mixes, the original running sequence & all eight minutes of TryA Little Harder, not included on D & B Together [Country Life was eventually released in a different form as D & B Together], & also stars Eric Clapton, Leon Russell, Duane Allman, Dave Mason, John Hartford, Billy Preston, Tina Turner & Steve Cropper. Saturday's Top Three Including Ac/Dc, Art Pepper, Badfinger

AC/DC High Voltage (Rare 1981 New Zealand 8-track vinyl LP on the orange & yellow Albert Productions label with 'Made In N.Z. By E.M.I.' perimeter text, picture sleeve. The sleeve shows minimal wear & the vinyl looks barely played. A stunningnear mint copy! APLP009)

ART PEPPER Meets The Rhythm Section (Classic original 1957 first UK issue 9-track mono vinyl LP on a deep groove label, where Art 'borrows' the incredible rhythm section of Miles Davis - At the time, even Miles said; 'I have the best rhythm section in the world' - Red Garland on piano, Paul Chambers on bass and Philly Joe Jones on drums. The picture sleeve is fully laminated with flipbacks & shows just a little light scuffing, discolouring & chipping to the laminate at the edges but nothing major. The vinyl has been professionally cleaned & plays through a treat with no distortion & minimal surface noise. There is an ultra fine hairline visible at the start of side 2 but upon playtesting this is barely audible. All in all, a stunning VG+/EX- copy! LAC12066)

 

BADFINGER Ass (Super rare 1973 Japanese 10-track vinyl LP, picture sleeve with the donkey / carrot picture inner, 8-page illustrated fold-out Japanese lyric / discography booklet + wide picture obi-strip. This album is rarely found with the original picture inner, let alone the obi-strip, and this copy is in amazing condition. The sleeve shows just a little light scuffing at the corners with a small dent to the end of the opening edge and there is some light foxing to the obi-strip, but the vinyl is in MINT condition - An incredible complete copy of this elusive pressing! JON BON JOVI with ELTON JOHN Dyin' Ain't Much Of A Livin' (1991 French-only wide-centred injection label 7" vinyl single including Santa Fe, great picture sleeve. The sleeve has only a little light edgewear/ringwear and the vinyl has just a few minor surface scuffs. This copy is in better than excellent condition)

THE WHO I'm A Boy (Extremely rare 1967 Japanese only 12-track stereo vinyl compilation LP, complete with lyric insert, unique pinched spine glossy scalloped flipback picture sleeve with Japanese sleeve notes on the reverse. The sleeve is in amazing condition with only the slightest hint of ringwear if held to the light, the insert too shows only very light wear. The vinyl remains in near MINT condition, a very nice copy indeed of this incredibly hard to find LP in incredible condition! SLPM-1354)

ABBA Slipping Through My Fingers (Legendary 1980 first press Japanese promotional 11-track PICTURE DISC LP issued by the Coca-Cola company. This rare first issue includes the forty two seconds of uncensored dialogue which was removed from the later issue. The unique custom picture sleeve has only a few minor storage marks. The fold out Japanese lyric and info insert has some slight discolouration but is intact and included making for a complete set PD-1005)

This original pre-dates the Mainman contract & as such has no reference to Mainman anywhere on the sleeve or record label SF8287)

KRAFTWERK 12345678 The Catalogue (Rare 2004 UK promotional-only box set featuring eight 'Kling Klang Studio Digital Master 2004' CD albums, each housed in a card wallet single pocket picture sleeve which, in some cases, updates the original album artwork, all of which fit inside a glossy white custom 5"square box! ROLLING STONES Masons Yard To Primrose Hill (Fullly subscribed and long out-of-print incredible 1995 Genesis Publications AUTOGRAPHED 130-page photo book by renowned photographer Gered Mankowitz. He captured unique and breathtaking images of the band at work and at play whilst travelling with them between 1965-67. This superb edition was limited to 1,750 signed copies printed on 200g matt art paper & bound in black quarter leather with silk-screened slipcase. An original 3-frame contact strip direct from the negative is pasted into each copy. This hand numbered edition has been signed by the author in silver marker pen. Out of print almost since its release)

Wednesday's Top Three Including The Who, Morrissey, Sex Pistols

THE WHO Sell Out (Extremely rare 1968 Japanese 14-track stereo vinyl LP, unique pinched spine fully laminated scalloped flipback picture sleeve with Japanese sleeve notes on the reverse and lyric insert. Being mostly white, the sleeve does show a degree of age yellowing at the edges but nothing too extreme. Shelfwear is minimal with only one light crease to the bottom left-hand corner and the spine is still clearly readable. The vinyl too remains in NEAR MINT condition, showing only a reasonable amount of play & containing just the two grooves that it was born with and no other obvious defects. A very nice copy of this incredibly hard to find LP in superb condition! SLPM-1394)

MORRISSEY Glamorous Glue - Promo (Super rare 2011 UK promotional 7" single, die cut company sleeve. Issued to promote the 2011 release of the Glamorous Glue remaster, and one of only 100 copies ever made, it comes in a special Stateside labelfacsimile card sleeve with a wonderful retro design on the rear. The B-side, The Loneliest Man In The World, is an old Vince Eager track chosen by Morrissey himself. This superb Morrissey collectable is in mint condition and is un-played SS2242)

SEX PISTOLS Anarchy In The UK Tour (Super rare original UK concert poster for their show at The 400 Ballroom in Torquay on Wednesday 22nd December 1976, part of the ill-fated Anarchy tour. Only three of the shows actually took place; this one was cancelled as a result of the bands profanity-laden television appearance. This would have been for the last show on the tour and due to it being canceled the group instead secured a second date at the Woods Centre in Plymouth. The poster measures 19½" x 29" in size and has the classic band name logo and tour name across the top, along with the supporting acts, including The Clash, Damned and Johnny & The Heartbreakers. This copy was acquired from the personal collection of Martin Goldsmith, responsible for licensing & merchandising for some of the biggest organisations and for many of the worlds iconic events)

ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK Pulp Fiction (2008 UK issue limited edition 16-track LP pressed on Audiophile quality 180gram VINYL issued as part of the 'Back To Black 60th Vinyl Anniversary' series - Originally released in 1994, this is the platinum-selling soundtrack album to Quentin Tarantino's now-legendary movie 'Pulp Fiction', and contains a mix of American rock and roll, surf music, pop and soul; including Dick Dale's now-iconic rendition of 'Misirlou' and Chuck Berry's 'You NeverCan Tell'. Housed in a sealed picture sleeve complete with a voucher to enable the listener to download an MP3 version of the album!)

THE DAMNED Stretcher Case Baby (Rare 1977 UK promotional vinyl 7" which was never available for retail sale, but instead was originally given away at a series of London gigs and through an NME competition to celebrate the bands first anniversary, also including Sick Of Being Sick. This is a legendary item from the beginning of the punk era, with superb picture sleeve and matching skull labels. GUNS N' ROSES GN'R Lies (1986 UK issue 8-track LP pressed in Germany for the UK & European market, the second album by the American rock band. Officially an extended play, it was treated as a studio album when released, featuring four tracks from the previously released and rare EP Live ?!*@ Like a Suicide, with the tracks on the b-side recorded on acoustic guitars. This copy comes in a hype stickered picture sleeve complete with the uncensored naked lady inner and an unused sheetof GNR stickers. Still in the original open shrink therefore the sleeve has minimal wear, whilst the vinyl is in 'near as new' condition showing little signs of play WX218W)

FRANK ZAPPA 200 Motels (1979 French issue of the 1971 34-track double LP on the 'clouds' UA label, distributed by Pathé Marconi, front laminated gatefold picture sleeve. Apart from a little creasing to one corner, the sleeve shows minimal shelfwear & the vinyl remains excellent with just a couple of light surface hairlines to show for its thirty five years UAS29218/9)

CLIVE CULBERTSON Time To Kill (Irish powerpop holy grail 1979 solid centre 7" vinyl single on Rip Off Records, the debut solo release by the former The Sweat / No Sweat frontman, also featuring Busy Signal, housed in a custom printed paper bag. The bag shows just a light crease down one edge due to it being oversized & not fitting as snug as usual in the punk 45 racks (!), but is otherwise excellent & the vinyl looks near mint. So this is a near mint original, but wait... there are inserts! This copy is complete with an amazing black & white fold-out poster for this very single & a very special handwritten press release sheet that tells it like it is; [Clive] is not going to be the latest big thing from the North coz e's only 5'4"...please review or give me back me leather trousers, cheers oi oi". Brilliant! All powerpop & KBD collectors, here's your one chance...! RIP9)

THE BEATLES The Beatles Christmas Album (Super-rare original 1970 US Apple label fan-club only 7-track LP featuring all the tracks from the Christmas flexi discs collated onto one album. This genuine pressing has hand scratched matices SBC-/-100A & SBC-/-100B, with the correct 'sf' & 'rifle' --<| symbol, along with the 'Bell Sound' script logo. There was just one original pressing manufactured at Capitol's Winchester, Virginia factory, housed in a unique pasted picture sleeve whichretains its original shrink. This copy was sealed when we bought it and has only been opened along the right hand edge to confirm it is a 100% authentic pressing. The record has never been played. Awesome!)
