MILES DAVIS Kind Of Blue: 50th Anniversary Collectors Edition (2008 UK limited edition 4 FORMAT boxset which gathers the entire panoramic sweep of the album's history – past, present and future – onto 2 CDs [running time over two hours]; a newly-produced black & white documentary Region 0 NTSC DVD [55 minutes]; and for the first time in the history of Legacy Recordings, the original 12" LP pressed on 180gram Blue Vinyl. This marvellous package comes housed in an expansive & lavishly-designed, super-deluxe 12" slipcase box complete with a full-size 12" square 60-page perfect-bound book of critical essays, annotations, discographic data, timeline, and copious photography as well as an envelope chockful of memorabilia & an enormous 22" x 33" fold-outposter of Miles. This copy has a score mark on the back of the packaging from transit but is otherwise unopened & still in the original custom stickered shrink)

PINK FLOYD Animals (Rare 1977 French limited edition 5-track PINK VINYL LP, complete with the original lyric inner, gatefold picture sleeve. Despite a couple of splits in the inner & a 1" paper split in one of the top edges of the cover, the sleeve is still in its original open shrink & the vinyl looks unplayed 2C068-98434)

LED ZEPPELIN Led Zeppelin (Extremely rare 1969 UK 9-track first issue stereo LP with 'Superhype' publishing credit on the labels, legendary fully laminated sleeve with turquoise lettering. The matrix numbers are 588171 A//1 & 588171 B//1 and are not scratched out, indicating that this is the very, veryfirst pressing. This copy remains in wonderful condition)

MORRISSEY Exit Smiling (Rare out-of-print limited edition paperback book limited to only 1000 copies written by Morrissey, issued by Babylon Books complete with unique numbered certificate of authenticity signed by the Babylon publisher John Muir. An absorbing 72 pages delve into his heroes of the cinema screen, written in typewriter text complete with corrections by Morrissey. Glossy picture cover. This book will not be issued again so this is your only chance to obtain a copy!)

MOTT THE HOOPLE Mad Shadows (Rare 1970 UK 7-track LP on the third design pink Island label with white 'i' logo. The gatefold sleeve was never laminated and as such has suffered a little from some edge scuffing and a few storage marks yet the spine is still clearly legible and the inside print unblemished. The vinyl has only a few light surface marks for over forty years in the wild & plays through fine - an excellent copy! ILPS9119)

GEORGE MICHAEL The Older E.P. (1997 UK Virgin/AE promotional only instore display stand. Beautifully glossy, this stand measures 15" x 20" and is edged with silver, with silver print against the blue tinted image of George with clasped hands. Absolutely mint, it remains unused to this day without any damages to the edges or corners, no mean feat for any instore display! The fold out standup at the back means you can simply stand it upright, although we think it would look even betterif framed or glazed)

 

 

Limited Edition, vintage Picture Discs now in stock

PIcture discs and shaped discs were almost a cultural phenomenon in 1980's, with record companies jumping on this bandwagon at a rate of knots. This continued into the early part of the 90's until picture discs were merely resigned to promotional use only as the vinyl industry declined. Original picture and shaped discs are now considered quite colllectable due to the limited numbers in which they were pressed, and recently we picked up a fantastic selection of picture discs, and shaped discs from varying genres from this time. Heres a few of the highlights below:

 

IRON MAIDEN Man On The Edge -1995 UK limited edition 3-track 12" vinyl PICTURE DISC single, also including The Edge Of Darkness and I Live My Way. The disc features great images of 'Eddie' being tortured on one side with an electric chair image on the other. Housed in a die-cut picture sleeve which comes complete with seriously huge fold-out tour poster! Apart from some minor edgewear the vinyl and contents are in excellent condition

Super rare and original 1985 UK promotional-only poster. Printed onto a thick card [as opposed to paper] with the steel guitar picked out in silver foil, this is a beautiful example in very nearly pristine conditonhaving never been used in-store and having been stored flat for the last 18 years! Just one or two tiny pin size white marks evidence its age, these are not pin holes though. Don't miss the chance to own this piece of memorabilia promoting anall time iconic 1980's album

Monday's Top Three including Pink Floyd, Phil Collins & Bon Jovi

PINK FLOYD The Division Bell (Rare 1994 UK 11-track vinyl LP pressed on heavyweight black vinyl, complete with illustrated lyric inner & glossy gatefold picture sleeve. This was a very limited pressing and now extremely hard to secure. The sleeve shows minimal wear & the vinyl is clean & plays superb, with just a few very faint paper scuffs which have no affect - a great example! EMD1055)

BON JOVI I'll Sleep When I'm Dead Tour (Rare official vintage US large sized crew only, multi pocket utility vest waistcoat made from a hard wearing poly-cotton material. Featuring fifteen pockets in total with most on front and two in the back, also has lightly padded epaulettes on each shoulder with a lightly quilted shoulder area, the front has a high quality zip front closure. Embroidered on the front above the top left breast pocket is the Coco Cola logo in red, the bottom right pocket also has the same logo along with the band name in gold and tour name and 'Tour Crew' text in white, this text is also repeated on the back.
This was issued to crew personnel only and was actually worn during the tour so there are some light signs of wear, however these were never available to buy as merchandise with only a handful ever being produced)

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN Live

Rare and original CBS/Sony Japanese promotional only poster depicting Bruce live on stage. Measuring 20" x 29", and circa mid-late 1980's, this poster was part of a retired record industry exec's collection and as suchhas never been used remaining near mint with no tears, repairs, pin holes and only some minor creasing to the lower edge due to storage, easily rendered invisible with professional framing. Printed 'Not For Sale' in the lower left corner against the CBS Sony logos

PAUL MCCARTNEY AND WINGS

Scarce 1990 UK promotional only group portrait poster. Measuring 25" x 31" the portrait depics the band wearing McCartney Tour Jackets from 1989-1990 and has been facsimilie signed by Linda McCartney in the lower right corner. In excellent condition with only some light creasing to the top section, barely visible, and some age spotting in the paper, nonetheless, this is the ONLY example we have secured to date!

DAVE VANIAN & CAPTAIN SENSIBLE

Quantity of 8 Promo Posters - This is a lot of eight promotional only gig posters from 1995/1996 depicting either Dave, Captain Sensible or both together. Each measures 14" x 21" in size, and as you might expect,have suffered their own chaos and destruction, with torn corners and some smashing up. These could still easily be displayed or framed either 'as is' in their vintage condition, or arranged/mounted to render these near invisible. Dave Vanian atthe Lomax, Liverpool '95 & the Captain at the Adelphi in Hull '95 are the earlier posters, with a Vanian/Sensible/Gray Still Smashing It Up In '96 poster and double headliner poster. Sporting day-glo green playing surfaces and featuring 43 amazing tracks produced by William Orbit, this stunning and legendary rarity includes TEN Madonna tracks, most notably the exclusive and otherwise unavailable instrumental versions of Drowned World, Amazing, Ray Of Light and Mer Girl. Also included is a double-sideddisplay disc with complete tracklistsings. Housed inside a spectacular Lucite perspex spindle casement shell, this is THE Madonna-related rarity that many wish to covet but very few will ever get to own!)

Celebrate the Emo Revival with 991.com

In recent years, there has been a huge resurgence in 90's influenced Emo. Classic bands such as Mineral, Texas Is The Reason, American Football and others reuniting to play shows for the first time in years. There has also been swarms of new bands celebrating the genre, with a sound that harks back to the glory days such as Moose Blood, Into It Over It, and Joie De Vivre. At 991.com we have recently picked up a collection of some of the lesser known bands who have a sound similar to all of the above from Europe, The US, and The UK.
