1961 UK 7" vinyl single with intact 4-prong centre - A breathtaking Doo Wop excursion from the Brooklyn outfit, backed with When I Was Single. The vinyl has few light surface marks with minor spindle wear and a smallbiro mark [from the previous owner] to the label and is in excellent condition - A wonderful find and a real treat! 45-R4822

URCHIN She's A Roller

Legendary 1978 UK DJM label 7" single, also Long Time No Woman. Written by and features Adrian Smith before he became a member of Iron Maiden. For a brief time Dave Murray was also part of the band and is rumoured tobe part on the recording, though different sources argue this. Comes with the rare original picture sleeve, this was only issued as a promo and not with the commercial release. The sleeve is strictly graded EX, with some minor shelfwear on the edgesand a small tear on the top opening edge on the back. The vinyl remains a beautiful EX-/EX with just a few light surface marks, we play tested this single and can confirm these do not effect play and actually still sounds outstanding. A very respectable copy of this now very sought after release.

 

SIMON & GARFUNKEL Complete

Rare 1979 Japanese-only limited edition SIX LP boxed set - each album come in their own pasted picture sleeve with Japanese text/lyric insert, all housed in a superb gold embossed individually numbered outer picture slipcase box with sixteen page photo booklet & three bonus postcards, complete with the rare original obi-strip. Apart from some minor signs of age this set is in excellent condition with near mint vinyl, an oustanding copy of this almost35 year old release.

ELVIS PRESLEY Kissin' Cousins

Rare 1964 Japanese HMV Victor original issue 10-track LP in 'Living Stereo', laminated gatefold picture sleeve with rare green obi-strip & 8½" x 12" full colour portrait photoprint. The vinyl is in near mint condition with just a couple of light scuff marks; the label shows a few traces of few plays in its 45+ year history. There is a little light foxing on the the inner sleeve, otherwise the sleeve is in wonderful condition with shiny, unfaded laminateplus intact seams & spine. The crowning glory is the original obi-strip, so rarely found on these issues, which, apart from a little minor foxing on reverse, is undulled with no tears or creases - superb!

 

KISS The Originals 1974-1979

1998 Japanese-only Limited Collector's Edition Box. Includes 9 different coloured vinyl LP's all with cool picture sleeves, sheet of glossy colour stickers, 6 picture infomation cards, and a 34-page 12" x 12" lyricbooklet with a full colour pull-out concert poster. All this is still housed in the original box inside a box with original red and black corner obi-sticker! An absolutely awesome set which we haven't found in good enough condition to purchasefor some years; apart from some light damage to one corner this is otherwise in virtually near as shop bought condition. Take it now, or miss it for another five years!!

 

ROLLING STONES Sticky Fingers

Rare 1992 Russian 10-track LP including Wild Horses, unique 'Hammer & Sickle belt buckle' picture sleeve with Russian text. The sleeve on this copy shows very little signs of age with the vinyl looking seldom played, an outstanding near mint copy.

Complete set of Five 2009 US limited edition LPs for the 11-track 19th studio album, produced by Paul Stanley himself and recorded at Conway Studios in Los Angeles, includes the singles Modern Day Delilah, Say Yeah and Never Enough. Released exclusively only through the bands official website, this is the original issue pressing on Black, Blue, Purple, Red & Green coloured vinyl with only 1000 of each colour pressed, this was late reissued in a set of different colours. Each disc comes housed in a gatefold picture sleeve with poster and still factory sealed with the colour sticker on the shrink - a great opportunity to own this highly collectable set which are now very sought after.

The sleeve shows only the faintest signs of shelfwear and the vinyl has only a couple of surface marks buts plays without any problems - an overall excellent copy.

The vinyl on this copy has incredibly managed to stay in fantastic condition with just the odd light paper scuff to show for its fifty years. This copy is as good as you will find anywhere!

TONY SHERIDAN & THE BEATLES My Bonnie - Incredibly rare 1964 UK second issue 7" vinyl single on the orange 'scroll' Polydor label with narrow titles, 3-prong push-out centre and Polydor company die cut paper sleeve. Also includes The Saints. The vinyl on this copy is in wonderful EX+ condition with just a few light surface scuffs and a faded 'deleted' stamp on the label to show for nearly fifty years. Even with this minor imperfections this is a highly sought after gem, that no serious Beatles collection is complete without

The Beatles are heading to Universal...

Universal/EMI: what Universal keeps, what it must divest...

The Beatles are heading to Universal, but it must divest many other rich assets to satisfy EC regulators about its £1.9bn (£1.2bn) takeover of EMI.

While The Beatles' label home Parlophone has to be divested on a global basis, meaning Universal will not to be able to get its hands on the likes of Coldplay, Blur and Kylie Minogue, the Fab Four as both a group and as individuals will move across to Universal. They have been excluded from this divestment condition.

Universal Music Group chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge and his colleagues will also get their hands on the iconic US label Capitol Records, the historic home of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and The Beach Boys and where one of EMI's current biggest acts, Katy Perry, resides.

Among the other assets coming Universal's way is Virgin Records, which Richard Branson sold to EMI in 1992. The rich catalogue includes recordings by acts such as The Human League, Culture Club, Heaven 17 and Spice Girls, while current artists include Emeli Sande, Professor Green and the Chemical Brothers.

The assets Universal must divest are:

• EMI Recording Limited (including EMI's iconic Parlophone label, with the exception of the Beatles), featuring artists such as Coldplay, David Guetta, Lilly Allen, Tinie Tempah, Blur, Gorillaz, Kylie Minogue and artists with steady revenues such as Pink Floyd, Cliff Richard, Tina Turner, Kate Bush, David Bowie, Duran Duran and Kraftwerk;
• Other EMI labels, such as Chrysalis (featuring The Ramones, Jethro Tull and Spandau Ballet, but without the Robbie Williams catalogue) and Mute Records (featuring Depeche Mode, Moby and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds);
• EMI Classics/Virgin Classics artist and composers;
• EMI's share in the popular "NOW! That's What I Call Music" compilations business;
• The following Universal labels: Sanctuary (featuring Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and the Kinks), Co-op Music Limited (a label licensing business selling artists such as Mumford and Sons and Garbage), King Island Roxystar (featuring Swedish artists such as Agnes, Eric Saade and Erik Aasle) and MPS Records (featuring Oscar Peterson, George Duke and Monty Alexander);
• Universal's share in Jazzland (featuring Norwegian artists such as Bugge Wesseltoft and Sidsel Endresen).

In addition, Universal has to divest the following local EMI entities in the following Member States:

• EMI France (featuring the David Guetta catalogue, Milow and Colonel Reyel);
• EMI Spain (featuring Macaco, Bebe, Luz Casal, Pablo Alboran and Heroes del Silencio);
• EMI Portugal (featuring Madredreus, Mariza and renowned Fado artists such as Carmane and Caminho);
• EMI Belgium (featuring Clouseau, Ozark Henry, Buscemi and Novastar);
• EMI Denmark (featuring Kim Larsen, Christophe, Bjornskov and Turboweekend);
• EMI Sweden (featuring Lasse Stefanz, Magnus Uggla and Eric Amarillo);
• EMI Norway (featuring Madrugada and Silvert Høyem, Lene Marlin and Morten Abel);
• EMI Poland (featuring Gregorz Ciechowski, Republika, Bajm, Namaam and Budka Suflera);
• EMI Czech Republic (featuring T?i sestri, Orlík, Kabát and Lucie Bíla);

Thursday's Top Three! Including An Unmissable Offering From Scott Walker, A First Press For LOVE And A Stunning Must-Have Led Zeppelin!

SCOTT WALKER Scott 4

Classic 1969 UK 10-track stereo LP. With epic arrangements and ambitious songwriting, this is the first Walker album to feature entirely original material and stands among his finest work. The gatefold sleeve is unlaminated and as such suffered a little edge scuffing, however the spine is perfectly legible and the inside print is unblemished - the vinyl is immaculate with no spindle marks on the labels with no visable scuffs, a really outstanding EX copy.

 

LOVE Da Capo

1967 UK 1st pressing 7-track textured orange Elektra label MONO LP for the 2nd album including the classics 'Seven & Seven Is' and the side-long 18-minute 'Revelation'. Housed in a picture sleeve which has only a few minor storage scuff marks and some edgewear. The vinyl has only a small 1" in diameter dull area on the A side the vinyl is in a stunning near mint condition which has no effect on play, after play testing we can safely say it still sounds incredible for a 45 year old pressing.

 

LED ZEPPELIN Physical Graffiti

1975 UK first issue 15-track double LP, one of LZ's most diverse and challenging records, featuring household classics like Kashmir and lesser played gems such as The Wanton Song, great die-cut picture sleeve withthick card inners and card tracklisting insert.

The sleeve shows has some age yellowing and only a few lightstorage marks, the vinyl has just a couple of light surface marks, but these do not affect play - a superb example.

1971 UK original Joy label 12-track LP, housed in a front laminated flipback picture sleeve which has only a few storage marks, the vinyl is in superb condition and looks to have been played no more than a handful of times.

JOHN LENNON has been named as NME's Ultimate Musical Icon of the last 60 years.

The Beatles' co-frontman topped the poll, which began with 60 nominees in March of this year, beating out the likes of David Bowie, Amy Winehouse, Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner, Morrissey, Liam Gallagher and Damon Albarn to take the crown.

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher came second in the poll, with David Bowie in third and Alex Turner in fourth. Nirvana's Kurt Cobain came fifth, Amy Winehouse came sixth, with Jimi Hendrix in seventh place.

Morrissey ranked in eighth place, with Noel Gallagher in ninth and Ian Curtis in 10th place.

Over 160,000 votes were cast in the poll, which ran for over six months and has taken place to celebrate NME's 60th birthday. You can read the definitive list of all 60 icons in this week's issue of NME, which is on newsstands tomorrow (September 19) or available digitally.

ROGER WATERS The Wall Live - Berlin 90

Official 1990 German 60-page tour programme for the Memorial Fund For Disaster Relief concert at Potsdamer Platz on 21st July 1990, features English/German text with many pictures and artwork illustrationsand fold-out centre pages. This copy also comes with a fan club application card, rare card mask issued to be warn during a couple of the songs during the show and a 24" x 35" rolled poster advertising the show. The poster has only a few minorstorage marks but has no tears, the programme is superb whilst the mask is in a stunning near mint condition

 

JETHRO TULL A Song For Jeffrey

Very rare 1968 UK pink 'eye' Island label 7" single with intact push-out centre, also including One For John Gee, housed in a die-cut Island pape sleeve. This was the second single from the group. Apart from a light sticker mark on the A side over the 'eye' logo the labels are superb, the vinyl is in near mint condition showsing only a couple of light surace marks to show for almost 45 years of play - still a top copy of this now very hard to find pressing WIP6043.
