THE KINKS Face To Face

Incredibly rare 1966 Greek only unique 'Cannon' sleeve for the LP release, featuring the band on the Thames Embankment, sitting on a cannon, with Tower Bridge in the background. This is one of the rarest Kinks sleeves in the world & they are seldom found in as good condition as this one. The silk laminated sleeve shows minimal shelfwear or edge scuffing, with the only obvious flaws being a drawing pin hole at the top and a less evident pinhole at the bottom. Discolouration is at a minimum, restricted to a few marks here and there. An astonishing example of this amazingly rare Greek only unique sleeve!

 

MADONNA Like A Prayer

1989 original promotional store poster measuring 20" x 30" advertising the release of Madge's Single release on 7", 12" and CD single. Featuring the classic black curly hair profile shot taken from her controversial video.The poster displays only minor signs of storage wear, but was never used in store so remains free from pin and staple holes - An iconic promotional item!

 

 

THE BEATLES The Beatles Forever

Japanese 166-page softback book, a fantastic overview of the band's work between 1962 & 1970 including individual profile pages, interviews, extensive discography with pictures, bio fully in Japanese text and adverts plus tons of superb photos including press shots and news article excerpts. Picture cover with Japanese text and band photo spine print. The book is showing a little yellowing with age but is otherwise in great shape throughout!

 

LADY GAGA Born This Way

2011 US 17-track audiophie issue 2-LP set of the special edition of the pop sensation's 2nd studio album pressed on heavyweight 180 Gram vinyl, released May 2011. Includes Judas, Born This Way and The Edge Of Glory. Alsofeatures Peter Van der Veen performing vocals on Government Hooker whilst the track You And I includes elements of Queen's We Will Rock You. Deluxe gatefold picture sleeve with cover design variant to the standard issue, sealed in custom stickered shrink with deletion score through barcode.

 

OASIS The Importance Of Being Idle

Rare 2005 UK 1-track PAL format promotional DVD test disc, rumoured to be limited to 100 copies worldwide. Penned and sung by Noel Gallagher, the video features Welsh actor Rhys Ifans, which comically sees himand the band dressed as funeral parlour staff. Custom card picture sleeve with slight scuffs to the back which doesn't detract from an otherwise excellent piece of rare promotional material.

 

40 Years...In The Land Of Grey And Pink

To mark the 40th Anniversary of Caravan's classic 3rd album 'In The Land Of Grey And Pink' not only have the band just issued a deluxe edition 3 disc box set to commemorate the album first released in 1971, but for their upcoming UK tour in October they will be playing the album in its entirety along with other past classics and new music to boot!

The 40th anniversary box set includes the original album, bonus material and previously unreleased mixes plus a DVD with a 5.1 surround album mix and live videos from 1971. The tour encompasses their slot at the Canterbury Festival 2011, this year's Summer's End festival with Magenta and culminates with their London 02 Arena show with shoulder rubbing prog giants Curved Air.

Definitely some serious notable treats to behold from one the defining 'Canterbury Scene' bands!

Twiggy releases new album of romantic songs

Model Twiggy is to revive her music career with a new album at the age of 61.

Twiggy, who became the face of swinging London as a teenager, released a string of singles in the 1970s, including top 20 hit Here I Go Again.

Now she is to release an album of recordings of romantic hits, including a collaboration with her friend Bryan Adams.

Twiggy, 61, first won acclaim for her musical performances when she starred in the Ken Russell film The Boyfriend and later took West End roles for musical theatre.

During the 1970s she appeared on TV singing alongside such figures as Bing Crosby and Bryan Ferry and enjoyed a pair of top 40 albums.

Very rare and in demand original 1959 US 7-track deep groove mono vinyl LP on a purple New Jazz label with silver print, flat edge and 'RVG' stamper in the run-out. MILES DAVIS Bags' Groove

Rare 1959 UK Esquire issue of the classic 1954 7-track mono LP with flat edge and 'RVG' stamper, starring the modern jazz giants Sonny Rollins, Milt Jackson, Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, Percy Heath & Kenny Clarke. The front laminated flipback sleeve is a design variant to the US Prestige issue. Despite a little edge wear, the sleeve is excellent and the vinyl looks barely played!

MILES DAVIS The Musings Of Miles

Hard to find 1955 UK 6-track mono LP, with Red Garland on Piano, Oscar Petteiford on Bass and Philly Joe Jones on Drums, released on Prestige in the US and here on Esquire in the UK on lovely heavyweight vinyl with very nice unique Esquire-only sleeve design. The sleeve is fully laminated with scalloped flipbacks, and shows some yellowing with age, however the vinyl is practically mint with pristine labels!

MILES DAVIS Birth Of The Cool

Incredibly rare original 1956 UK 11-track mono LP on the turquoise Capitol label, featuring early 1949 to early 1950 recording sessions that marked a turning point in jazz towards a more stylistic sound. Includes the masterful 'Move' and 'Boplicity'. The sleeve is fully laminated and in beautiful condition; the spine is immaculate, the scalloped flipbacks secure and the print  unblemished, with only the lightest signs of ringwear starting to show. The vinyl is near mint T762 

CANNONBALL ADDERLEY Somethin' Else

Rare and in demand original 1958 US 5-track deep groove mono vinyl LP, on a Blue Note label with 'West 63rd' address both sides, plus 'RVG' and 'ear' markings in the run-outs. One of many Blue Note classics, this one is a particular standout as it includes not only Cannonball's but some of Miles Davis' very best work, who appears here along with Hank Jones, Sam Jones & Art Blakey. 'Autumn Leaves' and 'Love For Sale' are among the most beautiful andcontemporary renditions ever recorded! Pasted laminate sleeve. A simply a must-own for the jazz fan BLP1595

Rare 1957 UK 4-track mono 10" LP, with Kenny Dorham on trumpet, Elmo Hope piano, Percy Heath bass and Abdullah Buhaina drums. The 10" laminated flipback sleeve is a unique Esquire-only design, and has just onesmall blemish visible on the spine but is otherwise a solid excellent example. Very rare original 1966 UK 14-track STEREO vinyl LP on the pink Pye label, housed in a front laminated flipback picture sleeve for the mono edition - alas the revised catalogue sticker is missing, evidenced by the sticker residue to the rear. The sleeve has minimal foxing on the back with just a little creasing and slight curvature to the front cover laminate, however all edges are intact with clearly legible spine print and secure flipbacks. The vinyl looksbarely played, with the vinyl retaining a glorious lustre a grand 45 years on, and only minor spindle wear on the beautifully clean, bright labels - a must have for any Kinks Kollector!

 

THE CLASH The Clash

Rare 1979 Japanese promotional sample 15-track LP, housed in a picture sleeve with fold-out lyric insert, full wraparound 'Pearl Harbour '79' obi-strip cover, and bonus 7" featuring Gates Of The West and Groovy Times. Friendly Fires Trumpet player dies at 27

The alternative disco trio's contributor sadly passed away last week after tragically suffering a heart attack whilst swimming at Brockwell Lido open air pool in Herne Hill, South London. The musician who played trumpet and saxophone for the band's live performances was taken to King's College Hospital where later he sadly died at 27 years old.

 The band released the following statements "He was an utterly exceptional musician and his contributions to our shows will be hugely missed". "He was also an accomplished and admired composer", our thoughts are with his family and friends.

A rather unexpected collaboration this. Metallica have got together with Lou Reed for an album project entitled... Lulu, apparently inspired by the 'Lulu Plays' by German expressionist writer Frank Wededkind, which tell a story of a young abused dancer's life.

Rare original 1967 Australian black Decca label 10-track STEREO vinyl LP in laminated non-3D picture sleeve. The Australian issues did NOT have the 3D sleeves, although some were issued in UK 3D sleeves,therefore the original Australian pressings are highly sought after. Normally found with excessive wear, this sleeve is in near mint condition with just a little spine/edge wear evident and with just a few cosmetic signs of play the vinyl remains superb - a fabulous copy 44 years on!

Rare 1971 US only compilation vinyl double LP on the blue & silver London label, gatefold picture sleeve. This is one of the handful of copies with 11-18-71 scratched in the side four run out groove. These original copies contain alternate versions of Brown Sugar & Wild Horses, unavailable on any other record, tape or CD issued at the time or since, it is known as the 'Shelley Mix'.
