TOM JONES 'Greatest Hits... Rediscovered' [Release Date 08/11/2010]
2010 UK 28-track 2-CD album set
Sir Tom Jones is set to release 'Greatest Hits – Rediscovered' on November 8th. The album - a musical timeline of hit singles spanning almost five decades - comes in the wake of what has been an extraordinary 2010. A year that has seen Sir Tom celebrate his 70th birthday and bask gracefully in the plaudits afforded his most recent album 'Praise & Blame', coveting critical and commercial acclaim from all quarters and lauded as one of the year's highlights.
'…Rediscovered', a collection of singles spanning from his first No1 'It's Not Unusual' back in 1964, the rapturously received hits from the Sixties – 'What's New Pussycat', 'Thunderball', 'Green Green Grass Of Home' and 'Delilah', the likes of 'She's A Lady', from the Seventies through to more recent successes that reignited global interest in an artist that to date has over 100 million records worldwide be it the reworked Prince classic 'Kiss', the rocking 'Mama Told Me Not To Come' or from 'Praise and Blame' the title of the BBC1 'Imagine' documentary, 'What God Am I'.
'…Rediscovered' not only portrays a formidable back catalogue that defies genre categorisation but is a mere pinprick of a back catalogue from one of the greatest artists of the past half century which has been celebrated with not just a Knighthood but gongs from the Brits – 'Best Male' and 'Outstanding Contribution To Music' and musical publications such as Q over the past decade.
