Scissor Sisters return with their third album, 'Night Work', due June 28 on Polydor Records. 'Night Work' is a dynamic album with a big heart and some killer dance moves.

One of the biggest bands in the UK over the past decade, Scissor Sisters have been hard at work in studios in London, Bahamas and their home town of New York, and are ready to follow up on the phenomenal success of 2006's #1 album 'Ta-Dah'. That album was the third biggest seller of 2006, selling over 1.4 million copies in the UK alone and producing the single, 'I Don't Feel Like Dancin', also a UK #1.

"'Night Work' is a dance record but it's not all electronic. You can still hear the sound of a band spinning out together in a rehearsal room. 'Night Work' is really us boiled down to who we are. It feels quintessentially us," says Jake Shears. The album will be preceded by the lead single 'Fire With Fire' on June 21st.

It is the first time Scissor Sisters have worked with another producer; they recruited Stuart Price (The Killers, Madonna) to co-produce. This collaboration sees the group's relationship with Stuart come full circle after they opened for his band Zoot Woman in 2004, their first UK tour.

Paul Weller releases a new single on June 14th. 'Find The Torch, Burn the Plans' are taken from Paul's massively acclaimed hit album 'Wake Up The Nation' which was released on April 19th. The single will be released on CD and two 7" vinyl records.

Speaking about Find The Torch Paul explained: "Thematically, it ties in with the title track of the album. We've got to reclaim our heritage and our culture. Claim it back from the fucking politicians and the establishment. My daughter (Leah) and her mate sang on it too."

 

Stones in Exile

ROLLING STONES 'Stones In Exile' [Release Date 14/06/2010]

In the spring of 1971, the Rolling Stones departed the UK to take up residence in France as tax exiles. Keith Richards settled at a villa called Nellcôte in Villefranche-sur-Mer and this became the venue for the recording of much of the band's masterpiece 'Exile On Main Street'. 'Stones In Exile' tells the story in the band's own words and through extensive archive footage of their time away from England and the creation of this extraordinary double album, which many regard as the Rolling Stones' finest achievement.

Bonus Features: Extensive additional footage including interviews with all the band members, footage from 'Cocksucker Blues' and Mick Jagger & Charlie Watts returning to Olympic Studios and Jagger's country house Stargroves where a lot of the early work on the album was done.

Devo are back with the aptly titled 'Something for Everybody'. The long rumoured, wildly anticipated album (which was launched with a memorable performance in Vancouver at the Winter Olympics) features the band's classic line-up - Mark and Bob Mothersbaugh, Gerald and Bob Casale - joined by drummer Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Guns n' Roses). Produced by Greg Kurstin (The Bird & The Bee), the album also includes contributions from John Hill and Santi White (better known as rising hip-hop star Santigold), John King of the Dust Brothers, and the Teddybears.

A Devo for our times. A band that evolves, even as the world around them confirms the decay they have long suspected. With 'Something for Everybody', Devo has gained from experience, honed its attack, and stands ready to sound the alarm for another generation.

The first thing that hits you about 'Mojo' is that the spirit of the Mudcrutch sessions has carried on with the Heartbreakers. This is the sound of a band playing together in a room - not a studio - facing each other, all singing and playing at the same time. The music is alive, with no overdubs or studio trickery. What you hear is what they created on the spot at that time. Tom Petty says, "With this album, I want to show other people what I hear with the band. 'Mojo' is where the band lives when it's playing for itself."

As for the songs, 'Mojo' showcases a wide variety of American music from rock 'n' roll to country and both electric and acoustic blues. And then there are the images in Petty's lyrics which slip in on the melodies and set up a home in your head: The barefoot girl in the high grass chewing on a stick of sugar cane, the run-in with the law that begins when a carload of buddies decide to party with the motel maids, and the hilariously audacious idea of opening an album with an electric blues rocker about Thomas Jefferson’s love affair with Sally Hemings. Petty would probably chuck a rock at anyone who called him a poet, but he sure is a southern writer of humour and sensitivity.

'Mojo' has juice and guts but it also has some sweet balladry for the slow dancers and even a wacked-out reggae number that is unlike anything that Heartbreakers have done before. It's the kind of album nobody's supposed to be able to make anymore. It got here just in time.

Pop superstar Kylie Minogue releases her brand new single 'All The Lovers' on June 28th followed by the release of her 11th studio album 'Aphrodite' on July 5th.

The single premiered in the UK on the Chris Moyles Show on BBC Radio 1. Fans around the world overwhelmingly responded and it quickly became the #1 trending topic on Twitter in the UK and #3 trending topic world-wide. The video was shot in Los Angeles with director Joseph Kahn (Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Pussycat Dolls).
